Mr. John C. McNay of Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, NB, passed away on October 4, 2011 at the age of 98.
John was born on September 15, 1913 at “Egmondville”, Tuckersmith Township, ON. He is the son of the late John and Agnes (McBride) McNay. John is survived by his wife, Bernice; his children, Margaret E. Holland (John) of Noonan, Jean Hughes (Gareth) of Bedhampton, UK, John D. McNay (Peggy) of St. Stephen, Catherine McNay (late Michael Wignall) of Saanichton, BC, Nancy Lee (David) of Sussex, Scott McNay (Line Giguiere) of MacKenzie, BC, and Heather McNay of Kitchener, ON; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; his special friend, Pam, as well as several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his sisters Margaret McNay and Annie Stewart; his brother William G. McNay; and his granddaughter Kelly Ann Lee.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).
At John’s request no visitation will be held. A celebration of John’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 1 p.m. followed by a tribute offered by Sussex Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20. The interment will take place at Hampshire Cemetery in Prince Edward Island at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Diabetic Association or to the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
