It is with great sadness that we, the family of Elizabeth Bartlett, announce her passing on Oct. 19, 2009, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Blaketown, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late Roland and Ethel (Osbourne) Gosse.
‘Bessie’ is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill; sons, John (Mary), Glace Bay, Kenneth (Loretta), Dundas, Ont., and daughter Myrna (Robert) MacMullin, Glace Bay, with whom she resided. She is also survived by brother, Roland (Sharon), Glace Bay; sisters-in-law, Reenie Bartlett, Janet Martin, Shirley Broadzinski and Rose Ireland. Also left to mourn are special niece, Carolyn Morrison and her loving grandchildren, Robby (Rachael) MacMullin, Steven (Roy) MacMullin, Jason (Ann Marie) Bartlett, Stacey Bartlett, Terry (John) Bartlett-Visser, Tracey (Stephen) Binder and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Silby, Leonard and sister, Viola (Reg) Smith.
Visitation for Bessie will be held at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, N.S., Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. with funeral service Friday, 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Marconi Street, Glace Bay, with Rev. Stacey LeMoine officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Grand Lake Road.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church or to a charity of choice.
