Formerly of Pinchard’s Island and Newtown, Bonavista Bay, passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Homes, St. John’s, on October 5, 2011, age 98. Predeceased by parents Eleazar and Sarah Davis, husband Weston B. Gill, son Clyde, brother Carman (Melita) Davis, sister-in-law Celie (Fred) Gill, brothers-in-law Thomas (Hettie) Gill and George (Shirley) Gill, nieces Shirley Mercer and Bernice Davis; and nephew Wayne Davis. Leaving to mourn her son Dennis (Roxann) at Pilley’s Island, and daughter-in-law Joan Gill at St. John’s; grandchildren: Valerie (Darrell) Wicks, Darryl (Gayle) Gill, Danny and Jenna Gill; great-grandchildren: Adam and Emily Wicks and Brandon Squires; nephews: Chesley (Julia) Gill, David Gill, Reginald Davis, Calvin Davis, and Dave Mercer; nieces: Helen (Roland) Rogers, Audrey (Wayne) Woodford and Gladys (Francis) MacKenzie; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl with visitation from 7-9 p.m on Thursday and from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
