SAVOIE, RAYMOND J. - After a lengthy illness at the age of 90, the death of Raymond Savoie, husband of Leona Savoie (Arsenault) occurred peacefully at the Dalhousie Palliative Care Unit on October 05, 2011. Born in Dalhousie (1921), a decorated WWII Veteran, Legion and Knights of Columbus member and respected local businessman, he operated Ray’s Contracting for many years. He is survived by two sons, Gerry, Tommy (Gisele), three daughters Linda (Glen), Andrea (Waymen), Claire (John), daughter-in-law Paula, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, a sister Pearl Harris. Predeceased by a son Michael, sister Opal Brown and brother Frank Savoy.
The funeral service will be held at St. John Bosco Church at 10am Saturday October 08, 2011. Visitation at the Church one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dalhousie Palliative Care Unit. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
