IRELAND, VERNARD RODNEY and MARY ELIZABETH JANE (MacFARLAND) - Vernard Rodney Ireland, 68, born in Maine on March 1, 1943 passed away on July 18, 2011. He was a life time member of the VFW, veteran of US Army, member of Loyal Order of Moose 766 and Local Elks Club Member. Survived by loving wife Elizabeth (Betty), son Robert D. Ireland and brother Robert Ireland and brother Steven Hull, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Vernard and Vera Ireland, brothers Clyde and Willard and sister Shirley. Mary Elizabeth Jane Ireland (MacFarland), 67, born May 11, 1944 in Saint John, NB, passed away July 29, 2011 at her home in Florida. She graduated from MacDonald Consolidated School in 1963. She graduated from Presque Isle Maine School of Nursing in 1965. She worked at Aroostook Medical Centre. In 1975 she moved to Florida and worked at West Orange Memorial. In 1963 she moved to Health Central where she retired in 2004. She was well known to her friends as “BJ” and will always be remembered for her great sense of humour. She was an animal lover and loved her dogs with all her heart. She enjoyed her Bingo games and her time with her friends. Survived by brothers Richard MacFarland (Elaine), Paul MacFarland (Judy), sister Kathy Campbell (Terry), several nephews, great nephews, one niece, several great nieces, several cousins and two aunts. Predeceased by parents Donald and Edith MacFarland and sister Judith Sheel.
A Graveside Ceremony will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at All Saints Anglican Church in Clifton Royal. A previous Celebration of Life was held in Winter Garden, Florida July 30, 2011.
