It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of their mother, grandmother and sister on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Christene (MacLeod) Ling.
Dot enjoyed bowling and skating in her earlier years but her greatest passion was dancing.
Dot is survived by her sons, Thomas (Tracey), Melvin (Rose), New Waterford; brothers, Tom, Kaneville, and Raymond, Sydney; sister, Claire Penney; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ling and Rodena Ling; and the love of her life her grandchildren, Julie, Katie and Michael.
Besides her parents, Dot was also predeceased by her husband, Adrian and brothers, Malcie, Bernie and Jimmy and a son, Thomas in infancy.
Cremation has taken place and a chapel service to celebrate Dot’s life will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at 11 a.m. in McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500, with Deacon Leo Penny officiating, followed by a luncheon in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Saint Agnes Cemetery.
