Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in the arms of his loving and devoted wife Jeanette on Saturday, October 8th, 2011. Harold Augustus Holwell (Jr.), age 71 years. Surrounded by his family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Harold (Sr.) and Bridget (Gosse), brothers Gerald, Walter, sisters Joan (Bill) Breen, Marie (Edward) Brennan and Madeline and father-in-law Patrick O’Leary. Leaving to mourn the love of his life, his wife and best friend of 49 years Jeanette (O’Leary); his three sons: Shane (Karen) B.C., Ian (Deanne) and Keith; four beautiful grandchildren: Darryl, Brittany, Megan and Joey who brought such joy to his life; his sister: Mary, Truro N.S.; sister-in-law: Nellie, Collingwood Downs; his in-laws: Madonna (Walt) Brennan, Bay Roberts, Judy (Neil) Tisdale, Donald (Lill) O’Leary, Wabush as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and close friends especially CarolAnn and Dickie Codner, Cathy Ann and Derrick Clarke. As per Harold’s request, cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, October 13th, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Inurnment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home Recreation Department. To the staff on 1st North at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home we thank you for your excellent care and friendship. We came as strangers but leave as friends. Thank you to Dr. Alteen, Sister Mary and Father John. To all other residents and their families for your kindness especially Elsie Russell. Special thanks to Doctors. Uthman, Reddy and the “Angels” on 7 West at St. Clare’s, Sister Madonna, Father Gabriel and Father Slattery. Thank you to Dr. Lorne Adams our family doctor and the staff at Sobeys Pharmacy. The boys would like to thank their mother for her love, faith, strength and courage in looking after our Dad! We will miss him dearly.
