Passed peacefully away at Hoyles Escasoni Home, St. John’s on Saturday Oct 8, aged 92 years. Vera was originally from Summerford, Notre Dame Bay. Predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Frederick J. Lukins and brothers Lloyd, Elmo and Edmund. Left to mourn with loving memories; three cherished children: Carol (Charlie), Sheilagh (Leonard), John (Sheilah); five grandchildren whom she adored: Susan (Chris), Charles, David (Vanessa), Jonathan (Carter) and Crystal; six precious great-grandchildren: Ava, Mia, Keira, Makayla, Nathaniel and Chance; sister-in-law, Sarah Small, a large number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of Elizabeth Towers and Hoyles Escasoni Complex for their kindness and compassion shown to their mother during her stay. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. on Monday Oct 10 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday Oct 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. from The Carnell Memorial Chapel.
