April 9, 1930 – October 7, 2011 — It is with love, praise and thanksgiving but tinged with deep sorrow and regret that we announce the peaceful and gracious passing of our dear mother, mother-in-law, grand-mother, sister, sister-in-law, relative and friend, Lily Reid at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre on Friday afternoon, October 7th at the age of 81 years. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, filled with love and gratitude and surrounded by her loyal and caring sisters, she left this life to meet her Maker and to be reunited with loved ones gone on before. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Hayward (1995), father and mother, Albert and Frances George and brother Wilfred (2006). She will be forever loved and tenderly remembered by devoted son, Roger (Corrinne), adored grandchildren, Ryan and Kelsey; loving sisters, Ada (Wilfred) Ivany, Gertie Day, Evelyn (Jesse) Goulding, Ivy (Charlie) Martin, Hazel (Fred) Marsh, Florence (Harold) Clarke, Dallas (John) Adams and Melvie George. She is also lovingly remembered by a wide circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo on Sunday, October 9th from 7:00 pm until time of funeral. A service of thanksgiving and celebration will be held at Trinity United Church, Blaketown on Tuesday, October 11th at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at St. John United Church Cemetery, New Harbour — Dildo.
