Passed peacefully away on October 8, 2011 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Center after a short illness, Vina Mary Thorne. She was 90 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; parents, Christina and Daniel Cooper; brother, Wilson; sisters, Nellie Hitchcock and Priscilla Sampson. She leaves to mourn her sons, Melvin (Joan), Gerald (Linda); daughter, Geraldine (Doug) Knight. Also leaving to mourn are sisters, June and Carolyn; brothers, John and Eugene; six grandchildren, Trina Connors, Marlene Thorne, Clarence Knight, Susan Forrest, Stephen Thorne, Krista Thorne; five great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other close relatives and friends. Major Wycliffe Reid conducted funeral services at the Salvation Army Citadel in Bishops Falls on Wednesday October 12, 2011. Interment was at the Salvation Army cemetery.
