It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Glenn Moen on October 10, 2011 at Providence Place. Glenn was born on August 29, 1921 to Andrew and Nellie Moen at the family farm near Hearne, Sask. Glenn married Olive Larson in 1950, and they worked together to succeed at farming. One of the highlights of Glenn’s farming career was when he was asked to haul the last load of grain to the closing elevator in Hearne in 1978. His “Pa” had hauled the first load to the same elevator in 1911. Glenn and Ollie travelled extensively but they were happiest at home, enjoying visits from family and friends. Glenn often entertained with his musical talents on the accordion and piano. Glenn and Ollie retired from their farm in 2001 to live permanently in their condo in Moose Jaw. Glenn leaves behind his wife Ollie; sisters Andrea Kissner and Florence Daniel, and many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Lillian Nagel, Agnes Holden, Gladys Shea, and Frances Moen; brothers-in-law Joe Nagel, Jim Holden, Willard Shea, Roy Kissner, and Ray Daniel; half-brothers Nels, Noel and Peter Moen; half-sisters Bertha and Julia Moen, Anna Meyers, and Mabel Anderson; nephew Marvin Nagel, and great-nephew Ryan Paicu. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Friday October 14, 2011 at 1:30 pm. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Donations in Glenn’s memory may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3. In living memory of Glenn, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J.
