Scott, Margaret - 91, Truro, passed away peacefully October 19, 2009 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro with her family by her side. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her kind and gentle nature. Born in St. John’s, Nfld., she was a daughter of the late James and Rebecca (Fry) Churchill. Margaret devoted her life to “her boys” who will miss her dearly but are forever grateful for her love and support. Margaret taught Sunday School for a number of years at the First United Church. Later in life, she joined the workforce and was employed at Atlantic Travel Service from where she retired after many years as a travel agent. She is survived by sons, Keith, Halifax, Ian (Cathy), Derrick (Debbie), both of Truro, David, California; daughter-in-law, Karen, Truro; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel Penny, St. John’s, Nfld; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, James; sisters, Mottie, Daisy, Lena, Vi; brother, Lloyd. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, from 7-9 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 25 at 2:00 pm in First United Church, 711 Prince Street with Rev. Allen Darby officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall.
