Passed peacefully away on Monday, October 10th, 2011, in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, Maurice Jerome Best of Southern Harbour, aged 79 years. Predeceased by mother and father, Marion and Leo Best; daughter Rhonda; two brothers: Dom (Rose deceased) and Tom; niece Wanda. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret (nee Whiffen); his children: Joan (Bill), Leo (Diane), Rupert (Helen), Gordon (Wendy), Linda (Ralph), Carol Ann (Shawn), Randy (Pam), and Ricky (Teresa); 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Donna Hewitt (George); brothers: George Finlay (Rita) and Kevin Finlay (Jeri); uncle Dom Leonard; aunt Stella Dunphy; also many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at St. Xavier R.C. Church, Southern Harbour, October 11, 2011 beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 2 p.m. from St. Xavier R.C. Church, Southern Harbour. Interment to follow in the R.C. Cemetery, Southern Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Xavier R.C. Church, Southern Harbour.
