Passed peacefully away on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Masonic Park Nursing Home, Irene Beatrice Guzzwell, aged 92 years of St. John’s, NL. Predeceased by her husband Gladstone (1994), baby Guzzwell and grandson Christopher (2007). Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: Melvin (Anita), Keith (Carol) and Geoffrey (Marie); grandchildren: Catherine (Paul), Stephen (Wendy), Allison, Jennifer (Mike), Andrew, Colin and Stephanie; three great-grandchildren: Ryan and Lauren Guzzwell, Shannon Barrett; sister Pearl Pye, Mary’s Harbour; sisters-in-law: Violet Pye, Forteau, Labrador, Shirley Belbin (Edgar), Matilda Guzzwell, Vira Guzzwell; also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Irene’s family would like to thank all the staff of Masonic Park Nursing Home for the eight years of wonderful care which they gave her. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Funeral service to be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
