The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his family at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, of George (Frank) MacDonald of Bedford and formerly of Souris, age 74 years.
Beloved husband of Marie Hooper and loving father of Shelley Clow (Donnie), Kevin (Judy), Darren (Julia); stepfather of Wayne, David (Paula), Eric (Bernie), Sonya Hooper, Karen (Dave) Sheehan, Paula (Fred) Mullen; grandfather of Jenna, Maria and Ethan. Survived by brother, Basil, and fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and 16 step-grandchildren.
Predeceased by wife, Sheila (nee Sinnott); brother and sister-in-law, Damien and Ethel; sister, Ada; and niece, Claire Robertson.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home in Charlottetown for visiting hours on Monday evening 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday at the Dingwell Funeral Home in Souris for visiting hours from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time.
Funeral to be held on Wednesday morning, Oct. 19, 2011, to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Souris for funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 am. Interment in the parish cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Prince Edward Home.
