The death occurred at the Beach Grove Home, on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, of Mildred “Millie” Toombs (nee MacDonald), formerly of Rustico and Oyster Bed Bridge, age 79.
Millie was the beloved wife of George Toombs; dear mother of Kenneth, Wheatley River; Jimmie, Edmonton; and Harvey (Sue Pachkowski), Rustico; grandmother of Elaine Toombs and Samantha Gauthier; and great-grandmother of Tristan, Pagan and Lacey. She is also survived by her brothers, Francis, Kenny and John; and several nieces and nephews. Millie was predeceased by her parents, Murdoch and Jeanette (MacKinnon) MacDonald; her son, Robert; and her sisters, Lona Hobbs and Edith Daley.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral will be held in the Central Queen’s Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment in the New Glasgow Cemetery.
