It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Sheldon Brian McDonald, 53, of Scotchtown on Oct. 16, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late John and Marguerite McDonald.
Sheldon was a member of Calvin United Church, New Waterford.
For the past 15 years, he was employed as a professional truck driver in Rainbow Lake, Alta. He was known to be a hard worker who enjoyed fishing and was fond of animals, especially his own. Sheldon was also a passionate sports fan who loved the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Red Sox and Green Bay Packers. His greatest passion, however, was spending time with his family, especially his only grandchild, Paige, whom he adored dearly.
Surviving are his wife, Deloris (McIsaac); daughter, Marisa (Jim) MacLellan, Halifax; sons, Troy, Tokyo, Japan, Sheldon, Cold Lake, Alta.; sister, Margaret Warburton, New Waterford; granddaughter, Paige; nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Respecting Sheldon’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held. All are welcome to visit the family home to share stories and celebrate his life with his wife and children.
