March 30, 1953 - October 16, 2011

Dan Gannon passed away with his family by his side on October 16, 2011 at the age of 58 years old.

He will be remembered by his wife and best friend of 39 years Pat, as well as his children who were his pride and joy, son Jason (Monique) of Kamloops, and daughters Jennifer (Al) King of Montreal, and Kelly (Sheldon) Tsang of Pitt Meadows. He also leaves six precious grandchildren behind that will miss his big hugs, Makenna, Shayna, Isaiah, Mya, Kai and Keely. Dan also leaves behind his loving mother Kathleen, brother Kevin (Line), sister Susan, as well as numerous other relatives.

He was predeceased by his father Allan and brother Robert.

Dan was born into a mining family in the town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. He carried on the family practice of mining for many years before coming to Kamloops. Here in Kamloops he worked for a number of years for the City of Kamloops and the Kamloops Fire Department where he was loved and respected by everyone.

It is hard to sum up in a few short sentences the kind of man that Dan was. He was the most loving husband a wife could ask for, he was a father that his children could always turn to, he was a friend that loved you in a way that you felt special, and wanted to return that love to him. He always had wise counsel for anyone, and a hug at the end of it. Dan always was able to analyze a situation, and if he couldn't fix it, would say "It is what it is". Dan was a spiritual man who treasured his relationship with his heavenly father Jehovah and looked forward to the promises set forth in the Bible with a certainty. We will all miss him so much, but look forward to seeing him again on the promised paradise earth set forth in the scriptures.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Avanessian, the nurses, and Christy at the Cancer Clinic; the doctors and nurses on 6 North at RIH; the amazing staff at the Kamloops Hospice; and the many wonderful friends and family that have been here to support us during this time.

A Memorial Service for Dan will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Valleyview Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1985 Curlew Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kamloops Hospice Association in honour of Dan.
