O’DONNELL (Richardson), June D. – 73, Truro. It brings us great sadness to announce the passing of our mother, June, on Friday evening, October 23, 2009, in Colchester Regional Hospital. Born August 10, 1936, in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Rose (Bruce) Durling and was raised by her adopted parents, Frank and Myrtle (Bruce) Richardson. June worked at Stanfields for many years, enjoyed senior bowling, card games and picking the big high bush blueberries in Kingston. She found friendship in an outgoing man, Gerald Keddy, from the Valley. June is survived by her son, Frank, Truro; daughter, Susan (Terry) Wood, Central North River; grandson, Keith Wood, Central North River; twin sister, Jean (Alfred) Hartlen, Truro; older sister, Joan Baron, Kingston; many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and adopted parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Daniel “Tony” O’Donnell; step-brother, James. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where June’s family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Monday, October 26, 2009, and where the funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday, October 27, 2009, Reverend Cory Somers officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in June’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association are welcomed.
