Passed peacefully away at Dr. Walter Templeton Hospital on Bell Island, Friday, October 23, 2009 surrounded by her loving family, age 57 years. Elaine contributed much of her time and served on the executive of the Bell Island Figure Skating Club for many years; she has touched the lives of so many people in so many ways and was known as “mom” and “ nanny Laine” to friends of her children and grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Jerry and Margaret Jones, sister Veronica and husband Tom. Left with fond and loving memories, sons: Shawn (Juanita), Jason (Cathy); daughter: Tonya (Justin); four grandchildren: Kaysha, Shawna, Scott, Connor; brothers: Buck (Anita), Jim (Marlene), Jerry, Blair (Diane); sisters: Alice, Imelda, Carmel (George), Bernie (Bob); as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends. The family extends much appreciation and gratitude for the exceptional care received from the staff at the Dr. Walter Templeton Hospital on Bell Island. Cremation has taken place; funeral service celebrating the life of Elaine will take place on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s Parish, Bell Island. Burial to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery; reception will be held at St. Michael’s Parish hall following the burial service.
