Mae Elizabeth MacKinnon, born on May 12, 1928, in Louisbourg, Cape Breton, took her first breath of eternity on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, and then joined her beloved husband Jim in the heavenly dance with their Saviour Jesus Christ.
Predeceased by her dance partner by less than four months, the separation proved too much and so peacefully, surrounded by her family she joined Jim, leaving behind her daughter, Judy Porter; son, Daniel, daughter-in law, Dawn and four grandchildren, James (Jenn) O’Callaghan, Fraser, Caitlin and Robbie MacKinnon.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Henry Roberts, Burlington, Ont., Daniel Johnston Chateauguay, Que., and her sister, Alice, Glace Bay, N.S.
She is survived by her brothers, Alex (Kay) Johnston, Buffalo, Alan Johnston, Burlington, Ont., and her sister-in-law, Betty, Chateauguay.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Church, Orleans on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Camp MacLeod; c/o Florence MacIntyre, 686 Main-a-Dieu Rd., Catalone, N.S., B1C 1V2.
