PAINTER, Robert Gerald “Bob” - passed away at home on October 16, 2011 at age 85. Much loved and missed by wife, Ann; daughter, Helen; son, Neil; grandsons, Shawn, Alex and Matthew and sister, Shirley. A family man who delighted friends and family with his talent for woodworking, innovative creations and above all for fixing anything that came his way. Bob was a Korean Veteran who re-enlisted in the RCAF as a radar technician. Upon retirement from CFB Summerside he moved to Nova Scotia with his wife and became a well-known bike mechanic. He was employed with Cleve’s in Kentville, where he was known as “Bicycle Bob”. Bob was also a much appreciated and involved member of the Valley Gardeners for over 25 years. With a keen eye for nature, Bob walked many miles in the woods. He had the rare privileges of seeing a peregrine falcon and having his hat knocked off by a goshawk. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service by request. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
