With great sadness we regret to announce the passing of our beloved ‘Dad,’ surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family; predeceased by his parents, Euphemia Robinson (Doyle) and William Doyle, his brothers, Ronald and Francis, sisters, Mary, Agnes and Evelyn. He was also predeceased by his son, Stephen.
Left to celebrate his life are his wife of 52 years, Mary (Doucette) Doyle; son, Barry (Jenice), Ingonish; daughters, Rose; Grace (Doug), both of Sydney; Carol (Barry), Ingonish and Louise (Tony), Ingonish; special daughter, Jenny (Doug), Ingonish. He also left behind 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Albert was a fisherman until his early retirement due to ill health. He loved to be surrounded by his wonderful wife and family. He was a sweet, honest and gentle soul who will be dearly missed by his family and community. His faith was strong till the end.
Visitation will take place at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, Ingonish, Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church with Rev. Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Buchanan Memorial Palliative Care or Renal Dialysis Clinic, Sydney, would be appreciated.
“Dress me up in me oil skins and jumper, no more on the docks I’ll be seen. Just tell me old shipmates I’m taking a trip mates, I’ll see them someday in Fiddler’s Green.”
