WESTVILLE – With heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother Delia Gertrude (Hartling) Morrison, 94, of Westville and formerly of Trenton, on Sunday, October 23, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Melissa (Walsh) Hartling, Stellarton.
She was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton.
She is survived by two sons: John (Geraldine), New Glasgow; Jim (Catherine), Greenwood; three daughters: Sally (Gerald) Phalen, Linacy; Junie, Trenton; Joanne (Colin) Coady, Westville; 15 grandchildren: Robert James Morrison; Roxanne Vacheresse; James Sherman Morrison; John MacDonald; Debbie Fraser; Sandra Morrison; Deannie Phalen; Rhonda Pyche; Sheila MacNeil; Shari MacDonald; Shelley Rhyno; Sonia Dobson; Nicholas Guthro; Shannon MacDonald and Melissa Morrison; 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her husband John Hugh Morrison; youngest daughter Lorraine, Trenton; granddaughter Darlene MacDonald, Hopewell; three sisters: Sadie, Mary and Rebecca; three brothers: John, James and Michael.
Mom moved to Westville to live with her daughter and son-in-law Joanne and Colin Coady who gave her a loving home and tender loving care for the past 12 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and loved her family and family gatherings. We are so grateful for all the years we shared with Mom and we will miss her dearly. Love you forever Mom and you will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in peace as you join Dad and Lorraine, who are waiting for you with open arms.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral mass 10 a.m. Thursday in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
