
Oscar Babineau
BABINEAU, OSCAR - Oscar Babineau, 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 23, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born December 16, 1940 in Notre-Dame, he was the son of the late Edmond and Eugénie (Cormier) Babineau. Oscar was retired from the maintenance department of the Dumont Hospital with 41 years service. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Annette (née Richard); a son, Bernard and his wife Isabelle of Dieppe; two grandchildren: Julien and Mathieu; three sisters: Léona Richard (Aimé) of Dieppe, Cécile Ward of Miscou and Anita Cormier (late Clovis) of Moncton; four brothers: Gérard (Hélène), Hervé (Marie) and Alcide (late Thérèse), all of Moncton and Yvon of Dieppe, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sisters and brothers: Thérèse, Florine, Aurèle, Ernest and Léo.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Wednesday, October 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton, on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be in the Frenette Columbarium, Moncton.
