VanTASSEL, BRUCE ROY - It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce Roy VanTassel announces his passing on Sunday, October 23rd, 2011 after a courageous battle with diabetes. He was born in Digby, NS, on February 17, 1961. He was a long time golf professional, employed at the St. George Golf Club family business. He is survived by his partner, Laura Skodje, daughter, Abbey VanTassel (Clark) of Edmonton, AB, son, Daniel VanTassel of Fredericton, NB, and their mother, Lisa of Campobello. He is also survived by his father and mother, Clayton and Geraldine VanTassel of St. Andrews, NB, two sisters, Carol VanTassel (Dan) of St. Andrews, NB and Joyce Rowe (John) of Saint John, NB, two brothers, Blair (Kathy) of St. Andrews, NB and Brian (Andrea) of St. Andrews, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
By his request, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in Bruce’s memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
