It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Carlos Brundage 71, of Amherst at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Sunday, October 23, 2011, surrounded by his family. Born in Springhill in 1940 he was a son of the late Carlos & Susie (Lewis) Brundage.
He was employed at Brookfields/Scotsburn for 39 years until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Cumberland Car Club and was a proud participant in the annual Christmas Light up. He has a large family with whom he enjoyed attending many family functions.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Patricia "Pat" Legere; 6 daughters, Susan (Richard) Wells , Vanda (Carl Elliot) Darlene (Wayne MacDonald), Cindy (Jamie) Mitton , Wendy (Wade Brine) Carla (Harold Embree); 4 sisters, Carol (David) LeBlanc , June ( Charles) Roberts, Marilyn (Roger) Gaudet , Marguerite (Peter) Shay ; 4 brothers, Layton (Patricia), Ralph (Greta) , David (Maggie), Ivan (Terrie); 19 grandchildren; Lisa, Melanie & Gregory Wells, Vanessa & Timothy Ross, Wanda McEachern & James Brundage, Andrew & Samantha Mitton, James, Corey, Nichole, Brandon & Ashley Wry & Brice Brine, David Chapman, Dennis, Devin & Anthony Embree and 8 great grandchildren, Tre, Braden & Logan, Xavier, Emily & Naethyn, Kory-Lynn and Damian.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his only son Kevin Lloyd Arthur in 1970.
Arrangements are under the direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst NS, where a memorial service and reception will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 2 p.m.with Rev Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating. Burial will take place in the Amherst Cemetery.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Palliative Care, the Cumberland Health Care Foundation, or to a charity of donor's choice.
