Swinamer, Herman Clarrie — 78, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011, at the Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on May 2, 1933, in Three Mile Plains, Hants Co., he was the son of the late Otis and Edna (Marr) Swinamer. He is survived by his daughters, Joy Henshaw (Richard Begin), Three Mile Plains; Joanne (Dewey) Haley, Windsor; son, Jimmy Hazel, Edson, Alta.; grandchildren, Darrin Henshaw, Christopher Henshaw and Deanna Henshaw; several great-grandchildren, Brendan, Makenna, Adrianna, Taylor, and Morgan. brother, Freeman (Frances) Swinamer, Three Mile Plains; sisters, Gail Berggren, Avondale; Doreen Berggren, Belmont; Dorothy Lantz, Greenwich; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Herman was predeceased by his wife, the former Doris Hazel; son, Vernon; granddaughter, Ashley Henshaw; brothers, Clarance, Roy Albert, and Douglas; sisters, Evelyn Morash, Helen Bonang and Madeline Sanderson. Visitation was 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, where funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011, in Lindsay’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Debra Mosher and Rev. E. E. Hill officiated, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre. Interment was in the Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. No flowers by request. Donations in memory of Herman were requested to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia; the Nova Scotia Lung Association or to the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital.
