DAVIS, L. Evelyn – Lower Five Islands, Col. Co., passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Five Islands, she was a daughter of the late Austin and Edna (Alkern) MacBurnie. She is survived by daughters, Debbie Murphy (Bob), Dartmouth; Helen Dunphy (Wayne), Edmonton; Carol Canning (Dave Bailey), Calgary; Donna Davis, Lower Five Islands; Karen Davis, Edmonton; sons, William (Doris), Five Islands; Basil Jr., Lower Five Islands; sisters, Helen Yorke, Lower Five Islands; Beulah Davis, Five Islands; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Basil Davis in 1985; daughter in law, Lynda Davis; brothers, Cecil, Everett, Chester, Bernard; a granddaughter, Morgan; a great grandson, Tyler. Visitation 6-8 p.m. on Friday [October 28, 2011] at Peniel United Church, Five Islands, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday [October 29, 2011], Rev. Florence Antle-Brison officiating.
