McGUIGAN, MARCUS A. - Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Marcus A. McGuigan of Maple Ridge, NB passed away on October 24, 2011 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at Millville, NB in 1933, he was a son of the late Ronald Hazen and Vera Fern (Allen) McGuigan Sr. Marcus loved his Saviour, Jesus Christ and served Him faithfully. He loved his family and was an active member of the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church. Marcus enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved going four wheeling with Anna and others. Marcus is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, K. Anna (Graham) McGuigan; six children, Linda McGuigan, Darlene Billings (Tim), Bonnie Wallace (Edwin), Lawrence McGuigan (Betsy), Marianne Williams (Nolan), Gwen Prime (Tom); eleven grandchildren, Jon Billings (Diana), Mike Billings, Leanne Fancy (Seth), Ben McGuigan (Jill), Karrie Read (Andrew), Sarah Candy (Jonah), Lori McGuigan, Ryan and Ian Wallace, Logan and Paige Staples; three great grandchildren, Jayna and Claire McGuigan and Owen Billings; son-in-law, Rodney Staples; two sisters, Marjorie Bell (John) and Angie Burpee (Al); three brothers, Ronald McGuigan, Charles McGuigan and Melbourne McGuigan (Barb); friend and neighbour, Vince Sharpe; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Edwin McGuigan in 2010 and sister-in-law, Lorna McGuigan in 2000.
Visiting hours will be held at Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church, 1125 Route 605, Maple Ridge, NB on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the church on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Nick Graham officiating. Interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jon Billings, Mike Billings, Ben McGuigan, Ryan Wallace, Ian Wallace and Logan Staples.
