Marcelle Therese McCaughan

Lieu de naissance : Lasale, Manitoba, Canada
Date de naissance : 30 août 1926

Mom was born Aug. 30, 1926 in Lasale, Manitoba. After leaving school she was employed at Eaton’s, wrapping parcels.
Mom loved the City life!
Unknown to her she would meet and fall in love with an explorer, who would take her on many adventures and journeys in her life. They moved to Fort St. John in 1947 and found jobs. Dad was a mechanic by trade, and was able to get a job with H.M.E. which took them to a life on the Alaska Highway. In that journey, it took them to Mile 956. There were many more moves in the years to follow, which included Whitehorse and Truch, Mile 201, where they resided until 1961. They then moved back to Fort St. John. Dad passed away and mom continued to live on the family property until her final days. Mom was quick witted and had a great sense of humor, she loved to play crib with everybody and anybody (especially when she won).
Mom was very involved with her church, where she played the organ for everybody to enjoy. Mom loved her music, spending many hours on her much loved piano, Mom was given a gift of playing by ear.
Our mom was a great cook, she instilled in all of us a taste for good food!
It was a great honor to have had the opportunity to be able to have helped and allow our mother the dignity, and respect she so deserved. We as a family were able to focus all our attention on mom’s well being and comfort.
She passed peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Father Udoka was there to give our mom her last rites and soon after her spirit soared and was free!

Goodbye & God Bless You Mom
We Love You!
