Passed peacefully away on Sunday, October 25, 2009, Herbert Thorne, aged 75 years. A veteran of the Canadian Navy from 1952 to 1957 and a member of Branch 1 of the Royal Canadian Legion. Leaving to mourn his loving partner, Ruby Gray and her family; his three daughters: Linda Mitchell (Neil), Portugal Cove, Mary Burt (Aubrey), Torbay and Yvonne Butler (Keith), Torbay; two sons: Herbert, Portugal Cove and Sheldon, Dryden, Northern Ontario; one sister, Margaret Wall (James), Moncton, N.B.; other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral service from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.
