Passed away peacefully at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, Hilda Tapper of St. John’s, age 90 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Harold in 2001; parents William and Sarah; brothers: Thomas and Michael, and sisters: Joan, Mary, Margaret, Kit and Olive. Left to cherish their many beautiful memories, children: Harold (Margaret Porter), Edie, Maureen Neary (Tony Caul), Marion Hrabowsky, Gerry (Anna) and Dorothy; grandchildren: Shawn (Sarah), Chris, Krysta, Scott, Matthew and Michael; great-grandchildren: Kayle and Shawna; very special niece Laura Smith who offered tremendous support; many relatives and friends; and Nanny’s little pet Misty. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Patrick O’Shea, Mary Jane Bennett, and the staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home who contributed to her care. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church with Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
