ROBINSON, Richard Malcolm – 91, of Yarmouth, passed away in the Villa St. Joseph du Lac on October 26, 2011. Born September 17,1920 in Yarmouth, he was the son of the late Howard and Winnifred (Berry) Robinson. He is survived by son, Leighton, Dartmouth; sister, Barbara Scanlon, North Bay, Ont.; grandchildren, Glen (Stephanie), Hubley; Lisa (Dan) Kaldeway, Lindsay, Ont.; Brian (Naomi), Eastern Passage; great-grandchildren, Joshua,Katie, Timothy, Joel and Halle; He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years Adelaide (Trefry), brother-in-law, Bert Scanlon and daughter-in-law, Norma. After graduation from Yarmouth High School, Richard worked for 25 years at the Yarmouth Cotton Mill and later at the Abbey Lane hospital in Halifax. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. For many years, he enjoyed tending his vegetable garden and travelling with Adelaide. He was involved with the Gideon's and was an active member of both Evangel Assembly in Yarmouth and Faith Tabernacle in Halifax. Visitation took place Friday, October 28 from 7-9 p.m. at Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, 567 Main St. Yarmouth, where funeral service was held Saturday, October 29 at 2 p.m., Pastor Oral Stewart officiated. Interment followed in Chebogue (Town Point) Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to The Gideon’s International in Canada or charity of choice.
