It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Joseph Gauthier, 62, of Amherst on Thursday, October 27, 2011.
Born on January 2, 1949 in Amherst he was a son of Suzanne (Legere) Gauthier and the late Felix Gauthier.
He was an avid outdoors men and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Peter was a skilled woodcraftsman, building all sorts of furniture and home restoration work throughout his life. Peter received his machinist certifications in Sydney, NS in 1970.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his loving mother, Suzanne; beloved siblings, Geraldine (Ralph) Farrell, Charlottetown, PEI, Paul (Judy), Truemanville, Gloria (Paul) Jenkins, Brackley, PEI, Grace (Calvin) Haines, St. Stephen, NB, and Patrick (Melissa), Athol; nieces, Christine, Jocelyn, Angel and Beatrice; nephews, Jeremy, Mike, and Andrew; great nephews, Liam and Charlie; as well as his extended family.
His remains are resting in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Cremation to follow after the service. Interment will take place at a later date beside his father, Felix in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery.
