DRISCOLL, NANCY PATRICIA (JONES) - Nancy Patricia (Jones) Driscoll, age 79 years, recent resident of the Priory Nursing Home, Victoria, BC, died peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of October 27, 2011. Born August 19, 1932 in St John, NB, an only child of Jack and Mildred (McKnight) Jones. Graduate of Royal Vic, Montreal in 1952, Nancy worked as a Registered Xray Technician in Saint John and St. Petersburg, Florida. Throughout her life, her passion for music and the arts was displayed through her involvement with many community groups, some of which included the Knights of Columbus (10th Annual Operetta; playing Lady Jane); The Fundy Frolics 1968; one of the founding members of Friends of Music; Contralto soloist and choir member of Centenary Queen Square United Church for 25 years before moving out to Victoria, BC in1981. On the West Coast, she enjoyed acting/singing with the Victoria Operatic Society. Her life was enriched through her marriage to Ernest Driscoll in 1952, residing their early years of marriage in Florida before putting down roots in Kingshurst, NB. Raising their five children wouldn't have been complete without her sharing and instilling a love of music. Many hours were spent at our piano, practicing in preparation for performances in the annual Rothesay Music Festival or the Royal Conservatory of Music. (John) Anderson (Lower Sackville, NS); Patricia (Andrew) Creelman (Quispamsis, NB); Blair (Leanne) Driscoll (Victoria, BC) and Stacey
(Chris) Lowery (Courtenay, BC). Grandchildren Blair and Elizabeth Harris, Mitchel, Meghan and Matthew Anderson; Joseph Driscoll; Rachel and Michael Creelman, Reed Wilkinson and great grandson Noah Harris. Thank you VIHA staff for you care/support and perserverance in helping meet Mom's needs in home and hospital. Special thanks and remembrance to Beacon Home Support Worker Evelyn Wilkinson for years of going above and beyond, enabling Mom to remain at home for as long as she did. Thanks to Shelley at Sooke Vet Clinic for finding a home for Mom's beloved dog, MeiLing.
