Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit of the Miller Centre on October 26, 2009, in the presence of his loving family, Herbert Sheppard, age 74 years. Predeceased by his parents Tasker and Greta Sheppard, twin brothers Jessie and Samuel and sister Laura (Sam). Leaving to mourn his loving wife Edie of 48 years; son Tony (Nona) daughter Charmaine (Philip); grandchildren: Autumn, Chesony, Jedrick and Olivia; his brothers: Wilson (Joan), Jim (Edie), Howard (Cynthia); brothers-in-law: Bob (Peggy), Jack (Dot), Ted (Delia), Ran (Bernie) and Fred (Judee); sister-in-law Lucy; also a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as other relatives, friends and neighbours. Lovingly remembered by life long Army friend Gerry DeMings of Calgary and Doreen Murray of Winnipeg; Army friend Eric Newill from Nova Scotia; special friend Wayne Jones and family and all his other card game buddies of Mount Pearl. Edie, Tony and Charmaine would like to thank all who visited the hospital and their home, for all the phone calls, love and support during Herb’s battle with cancer. Funeral Service 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from Church of the Ascension, Smallwood Drive. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. No flowers by request.
