MacBETH, SUSAN V. - At Pine Grove Nursing Home on Saturday, October 29, 2011, Susan V. MacBeth of Fredericton passed away seven days before her 97th birthday. Born in Ashland, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Edith (Madore) Burgoyne and wife of the late Kenneth M. MacBeth. Susan was a homemaker for many years. She took many bus tours to parts of Canada and the United States. An avid quilter, she made beautiful quilts for her family. Susan knitted hundreds of mitts and socks for her family and needy children. She is survived by sons Ronald Edney (Grace) of Kingsclear, Ray Edney (Lillian) of Gouveneur, NY, Allen MacBeth (Lois) of Fredericton; daughters Edith Carroll (Fred) of Fredericton, Marie Thompson (Floyd) of Harvey Station, Pauline Willis (Ralph) of Nashwaaksis, Theresa Abromaitis (Vytas) of Richmond, BC; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Susan was the last surviving member of her immediate family as she was also predeceased by four sisters; two brothers and a daughter-in-law Verna Edney.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road where the family will receive friends and visitors on Tuesday, November 1 from 11:30 to 1:30 pm. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Family interment to follow.
