Chow, Joseph Chan Kwan, 69 of Riverview Drive, New Glasgow passed away October 29, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in China he was a son of the late Park and Yok(Oi)Chow.
Joseph immigrated to Canada in 1955. He owned and operated Chow’s Restaurant on Provost Street in New Glasgow closing in 1988. He moved to Amherst, returning to New Glasgow where he owned and operated Joe Chow’s Restaurant for the past 21 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a passion for the Pictou County Weeks Crushers having attended all of their games.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother whose family meant everything to him.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia(Daniels), a son Walter(Michelle) and granddaughter Heather, daughters Kimberly(Steve), Natasha, sisters, Lai(Jim), Carol(Murray), brothers, Danny(Kitty), Louie(Vicky), Tat and Yee Hung, a sister- in law, Flo(Howie), 16 nieces and nephews.
Cremation to take place.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A memorial service will be held 2pm Thursday from the Trinity United Church, New Glasgow with Rev. Jim Shaffner presiding.
Burial will take place in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Donations in memory of Joseph may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
