BLAKNEY, IRENE "DOLLY" I. - Irene “Dolly” I. Blakney, 91, of Riverview, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday morning, October 30, 2011. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Augusta (Roberts) Beers. Dolly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and sister. She was a former employee of the T. Eaton Co. Ltd., The Moncton Hospital and attended Five Points Baptist Church. Dolly enjoyed playing all card games, doing puzzles, knitting, spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Dolly will be sadly missed by her daughters, Jean Mollins (Dave) of Moncton, Freda Wilson (David) of Riverview, sons, Donald (Gloria) of Moncton, Harold (Donna) of Stilesville, Lloyd (late Susan) of Riverview, Hamish Lynn (Lois) of Salisbury, daughter in law, Darlene Blakney of Riverview, 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, brothers, Carmen Beers of Calgary, AB, Everett Beers of Winnipeg, MB, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Herbert W. Blakney (1994), son, Bobby, sisters, Dorothy and Margaret, brothers, Ned, Warren, Lloyd, Walter and Jim, step mother, Stella (Cail) Beers.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday November 3, 2011 at 1:30pm with Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment, Five Points Cemetery.
