Lieu de décès : SYDNEY, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada

Today we sadly announce the passing of a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Judy Silver, 63, of Sydney passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Words cannot express our grief at this time but her devotion and strength will continue to help mend our broken hearts.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late George and Shirley (Hareguay) Miles.
Judy began her career at General Instruments and continued with other endeavors until she began working for Clarkes Burner Service. Working from a home office as a secretary gave her the flexibility to be a career woman as well as a stay-at-home mom and wife which was her life-long passion.
Judy once said there were no words to describe the amount of love you have for your grandchild and grandchildren were life’s greatest blessings. Her will to live and strength to go on was driven by this love.
Judy loved her family first and foremost. Her love for her husband and children was inspiring. It was unconditional and experienced by them every day. She was also a devoted friend and confidant to many. She touched the lives of everyone who ever met her. Her sense of humour and wit will be remembered and treasured by all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Murray; daughters, Jody (Chuck) Ivy, Sydney, Sherry (Jim Melvin) Silver, Sydney; brother, George (Patricia Lewis) Miles, Sydney; grandsons, Noah and Owen Ivy; granddaughter, Ryan Elizabeth Melvin. She is also survived by a niece, Carol (T.J.) Miles; nephew, George Patrick and family; grandnephew, Patrick; her ‘sister’, Pearl Clarke and family; and many close relatives and friends.
A family funeral service will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Laura McCue officiating. Following the service, the family wish to invite all to attend a reception at the Grand Lake Road Fire Department.
Memorials may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association.
