
Donald Sheridan
SHERIDAN, DONALD - Donald W. Sheridan passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 in the Colchester County Hospital, Truro, N.S. Born in Barachois, N.B. in 1925, he grew up in Pointe-du-Chene, N.B. and was a son of the late Francis L. and Dora M. (McFadden) Sheridan. He served in the Royal Canadian Army during the latter part of the Second World War. He spent his adult life in Truro, N.S. working at the Agricultural College for 37 years until retirement. He was involved with the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition and the Truro Raceway. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time watching the hockey games at the Colchester Legion Stadium in Truro. He is survived by his sister Julia A. Turner, Annapolis Royal, N.S.; nieces and nephews, Tom Gentles, Jennifer Batiot, Jeffrey Turner, Pamela, Wesley and Marcus (Sandy) Sheridan; the Works family (Shirley and Debbie Nelson, Hazel Murray and Frank Works); his faithful friend Kathy Downing and her family; his friends at Pye Motors, especially Oz Ingraham. He was predeceased by sister Pauline Gentles, brothers Franklyn and John (Jack)

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1st, from 7 to 9 pm, with funeral service Wednesday, November 2nd at 2 pm, all in the Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro. The Rev. Robert McCarthy will officiate with burial at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Pointe-du-Chene, NB. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
