GROVES, VIDA JEAN (1926 – 2011): It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Vida Jean Groves (Kent) at the Moncton Hospital on November 2nd, 1 day shy of her 85th birthday. Jean was born in Lacombe, Alberta in 1926, and grew up in Moncton with her sisters Kay, Betty and Lois, and her brother Don. Jean volunteered for the Royal Canadian Navy in 1944, and after the war met Roy Groves at a high school refresher program in Saint John, NB. Married in 1947, she and Roy raised their family first in Campbellton, and then Moncton, where they settled in 1959. She was a wonderful and generous mother and grandmother, a great friend to the many people whose lives she touched, and a caring individual for causes that were close to her.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter and best friend Marilyn, son Kent and wife Brenda, and grandchildren Jack and Bailey, son Grant and his wife Sue, daughter Kathleen, sister Lois, brother Don, and dear friends, Ed and Marilyn Rice and their family.

While we will miss you, we know you and Dad have some catching up to do. Rest in peace Mum (Nanny).
