Ann Wynberg
WYNBERG, ANN H. - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Ann (Johanna Hendrikus Leijgraaf) Wynberg, 81, of Irishtown on Wednesday November 2, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on September 2, 1930 in Utrecht, Holland, Ann was the daughter of the late Gerardus Cornelius (1952) and Anna Gertruida (Scholten) Leijgraaf (1940). Supportive, generous, loving, caring wife and mother, Ann faced many life challenges with a natural survival and motherly instinct and determination. She loved the simpler things in life, including her flower gardens, bingo, knitting, cooking and traveling, especially to Las Vegas and Holland. During the past few years, she enjoyed her computer games and casino outings. Her laugh and smile lit all our hearts and will be cherished forever. She is survived by her heartbroken husband, Harry J. Wynberg Sr., with whom she married and immigrated to Canada in early 1952, almost reaching their 60th anniversary. She also leaves behind her two daughters: Anneke Wynberg and Debby Wynberg (Paul Surette) both of Irishtown; four sons: Gerard (Paulette) and Harry (Della), both of Moncton, Ben of Alberta and Peter (Denise) of Irishtown; 10 grandchildren: Dwayne, Derek, Terry, Natalie, Nicole, Joe, Jenn, Jeffrey, Randy and Craig; three great-grandchildren; Cale, Grace and Henry, as well as several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Sjeanne (Kos) Boose and one brother, Gerardus (Sheila) Leygraaf.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton 858-1900 on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Lawrence O’Toole R.C. Church in Irishtown on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment in parish cemetery. In memory of Ann, in lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. www.frenettefuneralhome.com.
