The death occurred at MacMillan Lodge on Nov. 1, 2011, of Daniel A. Acorn of Sherwood and formerly of Village Green, age 82. Survived by his wife, Ruth (MacMillan); sister, Marjorie Baltimore; stepsons, Barry MacMillan (Beryl), Brian MacMillan, Kim MacMillan (Sandra); grandchildren, Jo Ann, Amy, Andrew, Craig, Robert, Geoffrey and great-grandchildren, Chloë, Jacob, Sophia, Lilah and Taia. Predeceased by his parents, Daisy and Warren Acorn, sister, Orla Ballem and brother, Harvey Acorn. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Interment in Sherwood Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital would be appreciated.
