PICTOU, NS – Walter Peter Cyr, 78, of Pictou, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the Palliative Care Unit of Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Pictou, he was a son of the late Joe and Cecilia (White) Cyr.
Walter spent two years in the Black Watch, loved baseball especially the World Series and was a painter and furniture refinisher by trade.
He is survived by his nephew Leonard Turple who took care of him and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Tom; sisters: Eva, Kate, Rosie, Mary and Helen.
At Walter’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A public graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
