UPTON, JANET EVELINE MAY - Janet Eveline May Upton of Woodstock passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB, on Friday, November 4, 2011, at the age of 94. Janet was born on December 16, 1916 in Lincolnshire, England, daughter of the late Frederick W. and Elizabeth M. (Roberts) Elvin. Janet immigrated to Canada along with her parents, one sister and one brother in 1928. Janet is survived by two daughters, Gaynelle (Gary) McLaughlin of Woodstock, NB, and Rosamond (Gerald) Wright of Houlton, Maine; five grandchildren, Roger, Lois, Peter, David, and Stephen; four great grandchildren, Patrick, Gracyn, Rebecca and Violet; two nieces, Marie Leech of Fort Erie, Ont, and Diana Kennedy of Woodstock, NB, and their families. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and their families in England. Besides her parents, Janet was pre-deceased by her husband, Charles H. Upton; her sister, Doris Stairs; and her brother, John Elvin.
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB, with visiting on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 7 at 2:00 pm from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Robyn Cuming will be officiating, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
