It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Hendry on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at the MacGillivary Guest Home, Sydney.
Born in Scotland, he was the son of the late Margaret (Lynch) and Thomas Hendry.
Tom was employed at General Motors until his retirement.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Margaret ‘Peg’ (Palin) Hendry; his stepchildren, Sheree, Laurel, Kimberley and Warren; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Humphrey, Margaret McCreary; brother, Jack Hendry, Scotland; sister-in-law, Marjorie Brown; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, James.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for Thomas will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at the Calvary Baptist Church, North Sydney, with Rev. John Hannem officiating. Reception to follow.
