MOORES, Bina Pearl - Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Villa Saint Joseph-du-Lac. Born Feb. 18, 1923 in Burtt’s Corner, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of William and Hazel (Derrah) Pugh. Bina worked for Stats Canada until her retirement. She was a devoted volunteer at Veterans Place from 2005 until 2010 and was very proud to be Yarmouth’s Volunteer of the Year and Maritimer of the Week for ATV in 2009. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband Frank Moores and two children in infancy. She is survived by daughter, Donna-Lee (Jackie) Dease, Yarmouth, step-children Scott Moores, Dartmouth, Doug (Barb) Moores, Yarmouth , Marcia(Mike)Alley, Bar Harbor, Maine, sisters Mary Donahoe, Richmond Hill, Ontario, Treva Grant, Fredericton, N.B., 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and very specialfriend Marie Atkinson. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium. No visitation by family request. A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, November 2 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.D “Bill” Newell officiating. Interment followed in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations in memory may be made to the Yarmouth Veteran’s Place, Yarmouth SPCA and The Villa St Joseph Du Lac.
