IRVINE, Gwendolyn “Gwen” - 93, of Kentville, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 in Shannex Orchard Court, Kentville. Born in Montreal, she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Marjorie (Jeffery) LeBaron. She had been employed at the former Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital for several years, was an avid bridge player and enjoyed all sports. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dr. John Watson Irvine, Kentville; a daughter, Elizabeth Louise “Beth” Wade (Gordon Lummis), Wolfville; a son, Michael Frederick “Mike” (Pat), Kentville; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Frederick Lloyd Walsh; a sister, Mary Regan; a brother, Kent Skinner. Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Doctor Randy Crozsman officiating. Burial took place in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. Donations in memory may be made to the Kings County S.P.C.A.
